Freaky Tiki was founded in 2006 and began selling name brand sunglasses from a humble, 300 square foot shop in Waikiki. Although small we used every inch of that shop to stock our shelves with a vast selection unlike anything else on the market. That selection, combined with a level of customer service consistent with the values of Hawaii’s culture and the Aloha Spirit, helped us become Hawaii’s resource for quality sunglasses. We have grown a bit since then, but it will always be our belief that offering our customers the most choices possible while serving them with true Aloha is our responsibility as a locally owned and operated business from Hawaii.
We understood back in 2006 that picking the perfect pair of sunglasses is a daunting task and made it our commitment to offer our customers the largest selection of name brand sunglasses under one roof. With this commitment in mind we graduated from our humble, 300 square foot roots and opened Hawaii’s largest sunglasses specialty store at Ala Moana Center, where we operate from today. At 1400 square feet we carry more than 1500 unique styles from the world’s most prominent brands. Now although our selection fulfills our commitment to give our customers the sunglasses choices they need, it is only the first half of our beliefs.
Hawaii is a special place famous for its beautiful weather, beaches, and history. Yet it is best known for is its culture and value system which can be summarized in one or two words: Aloha or Aloha Spirit. Love, kindness, mutual respect, positivity, gratitude… all of these things and more define those terms and we believe Aloha defines the way our customers should be treated.
